General Education Advising

All new students who have not completed Freshman Composition and the General Education mathematics requirement (or equivalent courses) MUST enroll in a Freshman Composition course (English 101) and a General Education mathematics course (Math 110, 115, 120, 192 or 211). They must remain enrolled in these courses until each requirement has been completed. Students who do not qualify for enrollment in those courses must enroll in appropriate developmental courses (Eng. 102a or 105; Math 75, 80 or 90 depending on EPT/ELM scores) until they are qualified to enroll in the General Education courses.

REMEMBER, students must complete the remediation in mathematics and English composition during the first year of enrollment, unless granted an exception. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the ending of matriculation at CSUSB.

Your tests scores will determine which mathematics and English courses you must take in order to fulfill the Basic Skills requirement. Do not get discouraged if you score at a developmental level.
